The South Gujarat Information Technologists Association (SITA), in association with the Surat Police Department, successfully organised a Cyber Security Awareness Programme on 14th February 2026 at Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium, Adajan, Surat.
The programme was graced by the presence of Anupam Singh Gehlot, Police Commissioner of Surat City, along with senior officials of the Surat Police Department. The event also witnessed the presence of SITA President Hemant Patel, Guest of Honour Alpesh Gevariya, President, FITAG; and Nikhil Madrasi, President of Southern Chamber of Commerce, along with industry leaders, office bearers, SITA members and a large number of citizens.
The Event Chairman, Jigar Ghandhi, played a pivotal role in planning and successfully executing the program, ensuring smooth coordination between SITA, Surat Police, sponsors, and participants.
The official spokesperson of SITA, Jayesh Patel, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of cyber awareness in today’s digital era. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by SITA Vice President Javed Nalbandh, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, sponsors, and participants for their valuable support.
During the event, an informative cyber awareness web series and a short stage skit were officially launched to spread awareness about rising cyber crimes. These presentations effectively educated citizens about online fraud, digital scams, OTP-related fraud, malicious APK file threats and data theft, while also guiding them on preventive measures and responsible digital practices.
The event received strong support from various reputed organizations and companies. The Title Sponsor of the programme was TP-Link. SITA has been consistently working to bring together the IT fraternity of South Gujarat on a common platform to promote technology, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Beyond business development, SITA actively undertakes social initiatives aimed at promoting digital awareness and cyber safety among citizens. This programme marked another significant step towards building a safer and more secure digital ecosystem.
Through the joint efforts of SITA and the Surat Police Department, a strong message was conveyed, “In the digital age, security is not an option — it is our collective responsibility.”
The initiative was widely appreciated by the dignitaries and attendees and the organisers reaffirmed their commitment to conducting more such awareness programmes in the future for the benefit of society.
