Sunstone has announced the launch of ALTA School of Technology, an AI-led Computer Science programme. The initiative aims to bridge the widening gap between traditional engineering education and evolving industry requirements. ALTA School of Technology emerges as the evolution of Sunstone Select, an engineering initiative by Sunstone introduced in 2023 that has enrolled over 600 students across partner campuses in three years. Building on this foundation, the new school adopts a sharper, future-ready identity with an exclusive focus on AI-driven Computer Science education.
“Sunstone Select showed us that students thrive when education mirrors real industry practices,” said Ashish Munjal, Founder of ALTA and Co-Founder & CEO, Sunstone. “ALTA is the next evolution, AI-first, project-first, and future-first, built for a world where engineers are expected to build, ship, and scale from day one.”
Unlike conventional undergraduate Computer Science programmes, ALTA follows a build-from-day-one learning approach. Delivered in partnership with UGC and AICTE-approved institutes across India, the programme provides students with industry-grade tools right from the start: students unbox a MacBook on Day One, gain free access to GPT, Claude, Gemini and 15+ leading AI tools.
Students learn directly from MAANG engineers and industry practitioners, build and deploy 20+ real projects with live users, train in AI labs; and graduate with a GitHub portfolio stronger than a resume; plus a mandatory 6-month apprenticeship before graduation.“Our vision is to match the right students with the right environment, tools, and mentorship so they graduate truly industry-ready,” said Harshit Agarwal, IIT – BHU Alumnus and Director, Programme, ALTA.
Admissions are now open for the 2026 batch across partner campuses nationwide. Students can apply through the ALTA Scholastic Aptitude Test (A-SAT) and may qualify for scholarships of up to 100 percent tuition support based on merit and performance.
