Epson, a provider of printing, projection and Robotics technologies, has launched a programme to empower engineering students in India by supporting classroom learning on Robotics with practical real-life applications training on its cutting-edge Robotics solutions. This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, ensuring students are ready with practical skills aligned to modern manufacturing needs.
The programme includes an internship at the Epson Solution Centre in Banalore and setting up of a Robotics lab at leading engineering colleges in India.
To kick off this initiative, Epson has already collaborated with Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bangalore, where a state-of-the-art Epson Robotics Lab has been established. Additionally, Epson has also collaborated with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, where Epson Robotics lab will be established soon. These labs feature Epson’s advanced SCARA and 6-Axis Robots, engineered for precision, speed and reliability across tasks like assembly, material handling, packaging, and inspection. With compact designs and powerful performance, Epson Robots are trusted by manufacturers worldwide to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
As part of its commitment, Epson introduced an internship to its first batch of 22 students from four premier engineering institutes, who underwent 19 days of hands-on training at the Epson Solution Centre in Bangalore. This internship allowed students to engage with real-world robotics systems and gain invaluable insights into the dynamics of modern manufacturing environments.
“At Epson, we believe in empowering the next generation of engineers with the tools and training they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Siva Kumar, Sr GM, Sales and Marketing, Epson India. “Our partnerships with academic institutions and the dedicated internship programme are all about giving students the exposure they need to step confidently into the workforce.”
With over 100 students expected to benefit in FY25 from such initiatives, Epson is actively supporting the growth of industry-academic collaboration in India’s engineering education landscape, while continuing to expand its reach to empower future innovators nationwide.
