Consisting of more than 750,000 photovoltaic modules, Juna is ACCIONA Energía’s largest project in the country. It will produce 800GWh of green electricity per year, enough to supply 840,000 households and will avoid the annual emission of 724,000 tonnes of CO2.

70% of the plant’s production will be supplied to Manikaran Power, one of India’s largest power trading companies, through a 15-year PPA, while the remaining 30% will be sold to the market.

The construction of Juna generated up to 1,000 jobs at its peak. In addition, it is said to have a positive impact on local communities through ACCIONA Energía’s Social Impact Management programme, which promotes initiatives in education, well-being, and environmental care in the communities where it operates.

With this project, ACCIONA Energía consolidates its presence in India, where it already operates four wind farms totaling 164MW, and strengthens its geographic diversification.

As of June 2025, the country had already achieved 235.7GW – 49% of its total installed capacity – from non-fossil fuel sources.

Solar power capacity in India has increased almost 40-fold, from 2.82GW in 2014 to 110.9GW in 2025. Rajasthan accounts for roughly 27% of India’s cumulative solar capacity, making it the country’s leading state in large-scale solar deployment.

*ACCIONA Energía has commissioned the 412MWp Juna photovoltaic plant in the state of Rajasthan, India.
