Each year, the Jennifer Easton Community Spirit Awards recognises Native artists and culture bearers who exemplify cultural generosity, artistic excellence; and deep commitment to their communities with a $50,000 unrestricted award. The 2025 honorees are –

  • Silver Galleto (Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians)
  • Terrill Goseyun (San Carlos Apache Tribe)
  • Janie Verret Luster (United Houma Nation)
  • Julia Marden (Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head, Aquinnah)
  • Sonya Moody-Jurado (Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians)
  • Lisa Moorehead-Hillman (Karuk, Yurok, Shasta)

The celebration will feature live music performances, delicious refreshments and heartfelt recognition of these six extraordinary artists whose lifework continues to shape and sustain the Indigenous Arts Ecology.

“This annual celebration is more than an event – it is a gathering of community, culture and generosity,” said Lori Pourier (Oglala Lakota), Founder and Senior Fellow of First Peoples Fund. “Artists are change makers in our communities nationally; and so artists restore history and our identity.”
