Annandale Ground is a flat ground in the valley below the mountain peaks in Simla. It is also called Annadale. You can go from Summer Hill towards the Glen and descend to the Annandale. It is right below the Jakhu Temple peak. It is 2 kms from Simla railway station.
Laid out as a recreation ground during the early 19th century for the British who came to spend the summers in Simla, Annndale was a centre of their many outings. They held fairs, picnics, birthdays and get togethers here. Polo, cricket, football tournaments and gymkhana gathering were arranged there.
Annandale also has a golf course.
In modern times, a helipad and an Army heritage Museum were built there.
Near the Army Heritage Museum, there is a Gan Devta temple. It is mad of wood and slate slabs and is one of the oldest temples in the area, dedicated to the family deities of the local people.
You can stay on the Mall and walk or take a transport to the Annandale.
