Chadwick Falls Simla | Travel and Sightseeing

About 7 kms from the city centre of Simla and 1 m from the Simla railway station are the Chadwick Falls, at a height of 1586 metres (5203 Feet). This means that you can take a hiking trail from the railway station and go down hill, as Simla is at a height of 2206 metres (7238 Feet). Alternatively, you can book a tour package to reach there. There are no entry fee.

Chadwick Falls can be a nice picnic spot for tourists who can include it in their itinerary. The Falls are open from 6am to 6pm.

The local name of these Falls was Chidku Jhad. The British renamed them as Chadwick Falls. During the rainy seaon, the Falls descend with a gushing force as waters are full.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, there is Luturu Mahadev Temple in the vicinity of the Falls. Built in 1621, this temple is located on a hill-top location and offers an encompassing view of the area around.

It is advisable to stay in groups and return from the Falls and the temple before sunset. This is because there may be leopards in the forests in the region.
