Amid Indo-Pak Tensions, Indian IT Companies Adopt WFH

Employees of the Indian IT and global technology services companies have been advised to work from home (WFH) on May 9th, according to media reports.

As a precaution against the growig tensions between India and Pakistan and various advisories being issued in the traditional and social media across northern India, some major IT and services companies have reacted fast and issued work-from-home arrangements and have suspended non-essential travel for their employees.

The WFH advisory instructions were mainly for employees in the Delhi-NCR and northern regions of the country which have been on high alert in the ongoing attacks.

Deloitte India has asked employees to postpone all non-essential domestic and international travel. An all-India command centre hotline too has been set up to support employees, a source said.

Infosys, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, KPMG and EY; have issued istructions urging staff in high-alert areas close to the Indo-Pak border, such as Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh,Rajasthan and Gujarat to work from home and postpone all unnecessary travel. Employees stationed in border states have also been asked to return to safer locations without delay.
