Most people think of AC as a cooling device in summers. But there are such ACs in the market which cool in summers and heat in winters. With these ACs, you don’t have to use room heaters or blowers in winters. They also consume less electricity and hence, are a great value for money.
Daikin’s Hot and Cold ACs (FTHT Series) are designed to work in all seasons. They are a good choice because they are efficient and don’t require much maintenance. These ACs cools when it’s hot outside and heat when it’s cold. They come with a 10-year warranty on the compressor and a 1-5-years warranty on the PCB.
Daikin’s Hot and Cold Series ACs have Dew Clean Technology, which is available in cooling only mode. They have heating, cooling, auto-set and dew cleaning modes on the remote. They can work at the outside temperatures ranging from 10 degrees C to 50 Degrees C.
They won the National Energy Conservation Award in 2017 and the Global Cooling Prize in 2022. Here’s a tip to save electricity while running an AC. If you run it a few degrees above or below the outside temperature close to your comfort level, it will consume less electricity. For example, if the outside temperature is at 40 degrees C or above, if you run the AC at the cooling temperature around 26-27 degrees C instead of 16 or 24 degrees C, it will consume less electricity. Similarly, if the outside temperature is close to 1 or 2 degrees C, if you run your AC at the heating temperature around 20 or 22 degrees C instead of 24 or 26 degrees C, it will consume less electricity.
